Organizing and equipping young people to advocate for basic income
We are a group of engaged young people in Canada who are passionate about basic income.
The Basic Income Youth Collective (formerly BICYN) was founded in 2020 to bring a youth voice to Canada's basic income movement.
We promote economic justice in Canada by organizing and equipping young people to advocate for transformative policies like a guaranteed livable basic income. We want everyone to have enough income to meet their needs, participate meaningfully in their communities, and live with dignity.
CAN'T AFFORD CONSERVATIVE CUTS
CAN'T AFFORD CONSERVATIVE CUTS
This federal election, we are calling on youth to vote for a future that is economically just.
Conservative cuts won't make life more affordable - they'll just leave us with less support. EVERY CUT HAS A COST. Less income support means more poverty. Less housing support means more homelessness. Less healthcare funding means longer wait times, staff burnout, and under-resourced healthcare facilities.
